Live 35! Episode 35-Day 3 New Days Festival

The live shows are happening all around and the New Days are here! My salute to live music in the form of a big outdoor concert is in day 3 with Grand Funk Railroad, Loggins and Messina and the greatest rock n roll band in the world, The Rolling Stones. Our extended concert this time includes great jams from all three bands on slate. Crank it up and enjoy!

Episode 34 LIVE!

The 2nd day of the Post Covid Outdoor Concerts is here! PCOC-Peacock 2021-The New Days Festival. Free and open to all. It’s an imaginary arts and crafts festival as concerts are starting up across the US and we feature some of the Steves today. Steve Miller Band, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Stevie Wonder perform today just for you. I hope these brighten your day and make the blood flow faster and speed up your heart beat. Feel free to share this and all my episodes as you please. Remember these are downloadable so you can take them with you and of course they’re replayable. Thanks for listening!

Episode 33 LIVE!

You were warned last episode! This is the start of the Post Covid Outdoors Concert series, PCOC 2021. I like to call it Peacock ‘21. Also known as the New Days Festival, it’s a look at the future for concerts and arts fairs and is free and everybody gets along here. Ok, you may say I’m a dreamer, but hey, I’m not the only one. (Thanks, John). Use your imagination as we get closer to living lives similar to the way they were before February and March of 2020. Who would you like to see live? Frampton with Humble Pie and Steve Marriot? Doobie Brothers? The Beatles? Well, dream on…..with me. They’re all here at today’s New Days Festival. I’d love to hear your comments about these podcasts and suggestions for future podcasts. The crowd’s getting wild! Better turn it up! The show’s ready to start!

Episode 32 More ABCs and the letter J. Lots of 'em.

Episode 31 A is for...B is for...

Weird title, right? Let me explain. Details in this podcast are as encouraging as pandemic news is. Live activities are getting closer, we’re given the go-ahead for many activities but let’s not give up on the Covid fight we’ve staged. That’s my PSA for today.
Musically, we start the alpha-trek through my LPs (other sources too) with Allmans (no surprise), Boz, Cat, Dire and so on. You’ve heard many of these and replays can stimulate senses. Maybe there’s one here that’s new to you. I’d like to know your thoughts. Glad you’re listening!

Episode 30....Finally....Bob Dylan salute

Dylan has reportedly sold 600+ of his songs for an estimated $300 million! In his nearly 60 years of composing and singing his songs, he has gained respect, love and fandom from many and I want to salute some of his works. You’ll hear today, The Band, The Byrds, The Turtles, Keith Emerson’s first successful band and so much more. I hope you enjoy these originals and covers of the music of Bob Dylan. I’d love to hear from you about this one and anything else about Tales Vinyl Tells. How ‘bout some volume on this thing??

Episode 29 West Coast Bands

See if you know the band playing under the voice in this one. Let me know. I got on a tear here, from the Doobies, a Monkee and CSN&Y to Seger from ‘75 in Detroit, my hopes are that you’ll enjoy this one. Hello to our younger listeners who are discovering why we are the way we are. It’s the music!! Leave a “comment”, “like” the episode and “share” with the buttons below.

Episode 28

It’s an exciting time in America! Nearing the end of the first month of a new year, we’ve inaugurated a new administration and a Covid-19 vaccine is rolling out, despite shortages, delays and bad governors’ playing games with the pandemic. But I always found that music was a kind of salve, to help me through the good and bad and this episode’s no exception. With Hendrix, Seals and Crofts, Steely Dan and more, there’s plenty to celebrate here. Let me know what you think would be a good one to play, maybe a group of tunes that go together. Details in the podcast. The headphones I mention are the HD-6XX Sennheisers from Drop.com. Enjoy and happy listening.

Episode 27 World Tour 2020-2021 Pt 5

Episode 27! Our World Tour 2020-21 winds down today with a visit to Antarctica and a tune about the Lost Continent. We’ll also catch Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt, Alan Parsons, the Beatles and many more. This is our new blog page for Tales Vinyl Tells. On this blog page you can “share”, “like”, add a comment and start a discussion if you please. Feel free to join in on the conversation.

Episode 26 World Tour 2020-2021 Pt 4

Episode 26: Happy New Year! “ I believe ‘21’s gonna be a good year”. That’s where we start this episode and we continue our World Tour 2020 and add 2021. Today we travel to Asia with Asia and Lorde, then to the land down under with one of Australia’s national anthems and Little River Band, not to mention an old one about a kangaroo.
All our podcasts are recorded and uploaded in stereo, so if you can, listen on stereo equipment. You’ll get some clicks and pops, but full effect. Enjoy! And have a great safe year.

Episode 25 World Tour 2020 Continues Pt 3

Episode 25: This is the final episode for 2020. This is the next leg of World Tour 2020, and the tour will continue into 2021, when we’ll travel to Asia, Russia, Australia, Antarctica and a continent that’s hard to find. Right now though we’re heading to England and Europe with Pablo Cruise, Toto and John Mayall. There are more too. A little more volume will allow you to hear things that you may not have years ago as digital technology is very defining. Enjoy and Happy New Year.

Episode 24 World Tour 2020 Continues Pt 2

Episode 24: On December 20, 2019, I released episode 1 of Tales Vinyl Tells so this you might say is our First Birthday. That has me thinking, “If TVT was born on 12/20/19, wouldn’t this be the 2nd birthday?” Regardless, we’re up and away with the 2nd leg of our World Tour 2020 as we buzz around the US including Kentucky. I want to honor my friends (and they’re sisters), Karen and Kim, some mighty kind and fun Kentucky women. Next stop is Brazil with a classic and some new ones. Cuba’s nice to visit and the Caribbean is hurricane-free for right now, so a good time to visit. I bet you will hear at least one song today that you’ve never heard before and one that rings a bell but not loudly. Many are classics and it’s all fun! Hope you’ve enjoyed these so far and had as much fun as I have in putting them together for you. Best of the holidays to you!! And will you please wear the mask, keep your distance and wash those hands! I want to hear from you now and later.

Episode 23 World Tour 2020 Begins

Episode 23: Our first leg of the 7 Continents World Tour 2020. Sure, it’s imaginary but it’s safe and healthy and has some pretty good music in it. Climb aboard! The upcoming episode or more will include visits to Brazil, Cuba, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and now you can name the other continents. Today, we hear coast to coast, to Canada and Mexico. Hope you enjoy what you hear. Remember, its in stereo so dont be afraid to listen well and volume it up.

Episode 22 Interview with Bob Luckin Pt 2

Episode 22: We continue our chat with Bob Luckin, artist and audiophile, and we talk about some music you might want to check out because they are deep in the mainstream, and we hear from Poco, Thelma and Louise music, an alternate version of a month song and more. All TVTs are better with headphones or give it some volume because we’ve got some good ones on all the podcasts. Enjoy “Thunderbird” with Pete Haycock and Hans Zimmer especially!

Episode 21 Interview with Bob Luckin

Episode 21: It took some time to get this one ready for you and I hope you’ll find it worth the wait. I had a chat with my new friend, Bob Luckin, a while ago and he has some great suggestions of music to listen to and videos to watch that just might make you feel better but mostly, that might lift your soul. Featured tunes include Finlandia from Sibelius, a song that spanned 3 decades, a remake of a Lennon composition and more. I hope you like the path we took on this one. Mr. Luckin’s new book is called The Diary of a Mindful Dog. It’s touching, insightful, and smart. And it’s very fun to read.

I still need your help with a future podcast. I’m planning on doing a “7 Continent Show”. You know, Africa-Toto, Men at Work-Down Under. David W. named “Back in the USSR”, Regina mentioned some Brazilian artists, so help me here. You can break down artists or songs if you wish. I’d like your input. Email or call and leave a message. You can help program a future Tales Vinyl Tells. Thanks in advance.

Episode 20

Episode 20: This is a monumental task to get these podcasts put together and up to my standards for listening and dancing pleasure. Haha. Im finding that music can lift a weary soul and mine is weary from all the politicking and Covid crap. I wanted to play happy upbeat tunes so grabbed The Doobies with an invitation and played Pink Floyd from my Obsured by Clouds LP. The music from Steve Winwood is spotlighted today, there’s a song by Heart, a fave of mine from Marc Cohn, Walking in Memphis, and a few more. Hope it’s a good one for your ears and your head. Stay well and make sure to vote!

Episode 19 Salute to San Francisco

Episode 19: Hey, it’s #19! I had great fun when I was 19, when a lot of this music was fresh on vinyl and 8 track tape. The age of my teens, though, was ending and soon I was 20 and soon we’ll be on #20. Hope you enjoy my salute to the Great City by the Bay, San Francisco, which includes The Animals, Starship and more. Also, we hear Van Morrison, Joe Walsh and I share some Doobies. I need your help with a future podcast. I’m planning on doing a “7 Continent Show”. You know, Africa-Toto, Men at Work-Down Under. You can break down artists or songs if you wish. I’d like your input. Email or call and leave a message. You can help program a future Tales Vinyl Tells. Thanks in advance. Meanwhile, enjoy episode 19. Like Van sings, “Turn it up!”

Episode 18 Interview with Mike Zeiher

Episode 18: Moving through the episodes at a turtle’s pace. We’ve got an interview this time with Mike Zeiher, who got the ball rolling at that great radio station, WMUM FM, that was on Lake Worth Beach, Florida in 1970. Hope you enjoy the journey back to that time and that music. Music this time is from Spirit, King Crimson, The Airplane at Woodstock and more. It’s better in stereo, that’s how it’s recorded. A little volume too, please. Still downloadable, free and no ads. Enjoy! And thanks for the positive comments.

Episode 17 Love Episode

Episode 17: This is the love episode, suggested by Linda and approved by me. You’ll hear tunes about good love, lost love and I can think of a few that could make a 2nd love episode possible. Hear Arthur Lee and LOVE, Pure Prairie League, Chamber Brothers, Beatles and more. Listen loud, listen often. Replays are a treat too!

Episode 16 Interview with Brant Miller

Episode 16: We have a nice chat with our friend, Brant Miller, a songwriter and guitarist who lives in Nashville and has a new CD out that’s getting some nice accolades around the country. I surprised Brant by asking him to play a popular song he co-wrote and we have it live, as it happened, on this interview. Also, we have music from Cream, Buddy Guy and two guys from the Moody Blues. I was definitely saved by the music a long time ago, maybe you too. Join me for interesting conversation and great music. #16! Wow! Thanks for listening!
