Episode 152: John Mayall salute and lots of other good stuff you just don't hear today

Long title, I know. Rest in peace and thanks to John Mayall. He was so foundational in the form of blues and rock that we know and love today and he was influenced in the early 1950s by Freddie King and others. I admit it, I’ve not listened to all 68 or so albums he cut and in searching for some really good ones, I know I fall short. Alas. I like that word. We can say “alas” as we wipe our brow and we know we could have done better or at least done something. There are 5 really good tracks from Mayall and the Bluesbreakers here. He brought great players into his band and they rose into the limelight, all because of John Mayall. Oh yeh, Keb’ Mo’ does one here that is actually 4 or 5 years old. Predicting the future?
Things are heating up towards the General Election November 5th and there are a couple election-based tunes in this one. Also, are you ready to vote? Your info correct with your election board? Your vote really does matter!!
There are plans being made for just after Labor Day to have a Letter and Postcard Writing Party to get out the vote. Plans are for an in-person party and a Zoom party at the same time. Should be a lot of fun. Let me know if you’re interested.
