Here are some memory-joggers, just some of the great music we had and heard on LP from the 60s and 70s.

Ready for another hour of some of that great album rock from the 60s and 70s? Here it is! Tales Vinyl Tells, established Dec 2019 and now, this is episode 205 and we continue to learn about the artists that made that era of music so great are passing on and entering into the room next door, according to photographer Henry Diltz. Like Jackson Lamb, Carol Sturka, Cosmo Kramer nor Vincent Furnier. They don’t know what they’ll be missing but you’ll know if you hang with me this hour as we salute the great Steve Cropper. What a history this guitarist leaves behind!! Hopefully the psychotic reaction will be only on wax. We may cry. It’s ok. This life goes on. Booker T and the MGs is the music under me. That’s Steve Cropper on guitar. Let’s go! Today’s Tales Vinyl Tells is already rolling. Glad you’re with me!

Greetings and hellos to you and you and you, once again or for the first time. Now we’re on episode 204 and it’s another hour of some really good tunes, including Wet Willie with Jimmy Hall, Desmond Dekker, Tom Morello with the Boss, an excellent Warren Zevon cut and lots more. There’s been a lot of talk about the here and now so hear now the Tales Vinyl Tells.

I’ll put into print here what I mentioned in the show, this tune, Let’s Get The Show on the Road, is on YouTube when they played on Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert.

And it's another Tales Vinyl Tells. I hope your Thanksgiving was good and that you got what you needed and maybe even what you deserve which could be goodness. There was lots of food in my house and seems like holidays are pretty stressful for me and I assume that's a childhood trauma that needs to be worked out. But we're between holidays now and if you're hearing this episode in December of 2025, it's a brand-new episode of tales vinyl tells. I’m Brian Hallgren and this is our plunge into those great old rock'n'roll albums from the 60s and 70s and if you've listened to any of these podcasts and radio programs, You will know that I color outside of the lines so you might hear something from the 50s or the 40s or the 30s and you might hear something from the 80s or the twenty 20s. Just think, on today's Tales Vinyl Tells, you might hear salutes to: John lodge- Bobby Whitlock, a great tune from Billy Joe royal, Procol Harum, Spheeris long way down, John Renbourn, Batdorf Rodney, America, Free, Jesse Winchester, Eagles, Spencer Davis, War on Drugs and more or less. So, let’s get ‘em spinning first on TT 1, Jimmie Spheeris. I’m glad you’re listening today. If you want to email me, I am talesvinyltells@gmail.com.

Episode 134: Bonnie's Story
In a conversation with my friend Bonnie, she said how hearing a certain tune brought back memories of a time long ago. Who she was hanging out with, what music he was listening to (and the B-52s Rock Lobster was driving her crazy). He played it over and over, saturating his beloved partner. But she smiled as she said some of the things she hears on Tales Vinyl Tells stir up some good memories. So there it is, folks. The album rock of the 60s & 70s was some memorable stuff. Just think about the bell bottoms, the John Lennon-type glasses with purple lens, psychedelic headbands, pungent smells in the air covered by sandalwood or nag champa incense, beads hanging in doorways instead of doors. Oh sure, its all very nostalgic. Great songs fill this and every hour of Tales Vinyl Tells.

Episode 154: Supermoon music and more
Heres Another Tales Vinyl Tells, sharing the The vinyl albums from the 60s & 70s, those LPs carried the new wave of The British Invasion while America was already experiencing its own invasion from Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Mamas and Papas, CSN&Y, Bob Dylan, The Doors, the folkies, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Freddie Boom Boom Cannon, The Turtles, The Buckinghams even. And in the next hour, my intention today is to share some of those great LPs that were breaking a type of sound barrier and blowing minds while we.well, we were having our own revolution, discovering free love, recreational experimental mind altering elements, all to a soundtrack that lives on and has NOT been repeated. This music of today may last, maybe not. 60s & 70s rock has everlasting life.
