Weird title, right? Let me explain. Details in this podcast are as encouraging as pandemic news is. Live activities are getting closer, we’re given the go-ahead for many activities but let’s not give up on the Covid fight we’ve staged. That’s my PSA for today.
Musically, we start the alpha-trek through my LPs (other sources too) with Allmans (no surprise), Boz, Cat, Dire and so on. You’ve heard many of these and replays can stimulate senses. Maybe there’s one here that’s new to you. I’d like to know your thoughts. Glad you’re listening!

In his nearly 60 years of composing and singing his songs, he has gained respect, love and fandom from many and I want to salute some of his works. It’s an exciting time in America! Nearing the end of the first month of a new year, we’ve inaugurated a new administration and a Covid-19 vaccine is rolling out, despite shortages, delays and bad governors’ playing games with the pandemic. But I always found that music was a kind of salve, to help me through the good and bad and this episode’s no exception. With Hendrix, Seals and Crofts, Steely Dan and more, there’s plenty to celebrate here. Let me know what you think would be a good one to play, maybe a group of tunes that go together. Episode 26 World Tour 2020-2021 Pt 4

Episode 26: Happy New Year! “ I believe ‘21’s gonna be a good year”. That’s where we start this episode and we continue our World Tour 2020 and add 2021. Today we travel to Asia with Asia and Lorde, then to the land down under with one of Australia’s national anthems and Little River Band, not to mention an old one about a kangaroo.
All our podcasts are recorded and uploaded in stereo, so if you can, listen on stereo equipment. You’ll get some clicks and pops, but full effect. Enjoy! And have a great safe year.

Episode 25 World Tour 2020 Continues Pt 3

Episode 25: This is the final episode for 2020. This is the next leg of World Tour 2020, and the tour will continue into 2021, when we’ll travel to Asia, Russia, Australia, Antarctica and a continent that’s hard to find. Right now though we’re heading to England and Europe with Pablo Cruise, Toto and John Mayall. There are more too. A little more volume will allow you to hear things that you may not have years ago as digital technology is very defining. Enjoy and Happy New Year.

Episode 24 World Tour 2020 Continues Pt 2

Episode 24: On December 20, 2019, I released episode 1 of Tales Vinyl Tells so this you might say is our First Birthday. That has me thinking, “If TVT was born on 12/20/19, wouldn’t this be the 2nd birthday?” Regardless, we’re up and away with the 2nd leg of our World Tour 2020 as we buzz around the US including Kentucky. I want to honor my friends (and they’re sisters), Karen and Kim, some mighty kind and fun Kentucky women. Next stop is Brazil with a classic and some new ones. Cuba’s nice to visit and the Caribbean is hurricane-free for right now, so a good time to visit. I bet you will hear at least one song today that you’ve never heard before and one that rings a bell but not loudly. Many are classics and it’s all fun! Hope you’ve enjoyed these so far and had as much fun as I have in putting them together for you. Best of the holidays to you!! And will you please wear the mask, keep your distance and wash those hands! I want to hear from you now and later.

Episode 23: Our first leg of the 7 Continents World Tour 2020. Sure, it’s imaginary but it’s safe and healthy and has some pretty good music in it. Climb aboard! The upcoming episode or more will include visits to Brazil, Cuba, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and now you can name the other continents. Today, we hear coast to coast, to Canada and Mexico. I had a chat with my new friend, Bob Luckin, a while ago and he has some great suggestions of music to listen to and videos to watch that just might make you feel better but mostly, that might lift your soul. Featured tunes include Finlandia from Sibelius, a song that spanned 3 decades, a remake of a Lennon composition and more. I hope you like the path we took on this one. Mr. Luckin’s new book is called The Diary of a Mindful Dog. It’s touching, insightful, and smart. And it’s very fun to read.

Episode 20: This is a monumental task to get these podcasts put together and up to my standards for listening and dancing pleasure. Haha. Im finding that music can lift a weary soul and mine is weary from all the politicking and Covid crap. I wanted to play happy upbeat tunes so grabbed The Doobies with an invitation and played Pink Floyd from my Obsured by Clouds LP. The music from Steve Winwood is spotlighted today, there’s a song by Heart, a fave of mine from Marc Cohn, Walking in Memphis, and a few more. Hope it’s a good one for your ears and your head.
