YOGA
The practice of yoga provides much needed physical and psychological healing.  It gives a sense of peace and expansion and offers inner strength and resiliency to face up to all of life’s challenges.  The 5,000 year old tradition is about a very simple thing:  happiness (ananda).  In order to realize long lasting happiness we must be diligent to discover our true spiritual nature.  We must commit ourselves to self-transformation.  Yoga is a mental, inner discipline.  Even its physical postures (asanas) have a spiritual purpose.  Every single yoga technique, the postures, cleansing, meditation, pranayama is a tool to discover happiness.

RESTORATIVE YOGA
This is a class where self healing can occur without effort.  Restorative helps to reduce chronic stress and builds immunities. Restorative yoga relies heavily on props such as blankets, pillows, bolsters; weights placed appropriately and eye bags. Breathing techniques to quiet the mind will be integrated.  Restorative yoga quiets the gross movements of the body.  This style of yoga is NOT about doing.  It’s about actively relaxing so that you can lose sense of time and place to allow a wonderful sensation of peace to permeate your whole being.

BEGINNING YOGA
This class is specially designed for brand new beginners.  Gentle yoga is for all ages and bodies.  Step-by-step instruction is given on the fundamentals of body alignment through the basic Yoga poses. You will be guided starting with an introduction to Hatha Yoga, experience classic standing poses, sitting poses and a restorative class. Emphasis is on flexibility, stability, strength, balance, and relaxation. Being flexible in not a requirement.  Learn some techniques that you can practice in your own time at home.

GENTLE YOGA
Gentle Yoga is an ideal class for beginners, seniors, and students that prefer a class with a relaxed pace.  Gentle Yoga is a powerful antidote to being "stressed out," weakened or fatigued. Allowing the body to be supported in different Yoga poses, both active and restorative postures, with conscious breathing brings balance in one’s energy and a clear calmness to one’s mind. The postures and breathing exercises will gently stretch your body, calm your mind, and enhance your sense of well-being. Allow your breath to open up your body. This is your time to consciously slow down. Acknowledge the breath of life and receive the benefits that come from doing your yoga.

YOGA FOR ALL LEVELS
This general class is the perfect choice for students either who have completed Beginner Yoga or those who have prior Yoga experience and are ready for a typically paced formal Yoga class. This class continues to focus on the classic poses, building on the Basics syllabus with emphasis on alignment of the standing, sitting, and twisting poses. This class will help you achieve a deeper reflection in asana and refine your relationship to your body. The optional inversions may be practiced with more advanced students.

SLOW FLOW YOGA
This class is designed to integrate the basic and essential yoga poses into a slow flow or vinyasa. Classes may combine a variety of sun salutations and/or flows that either step or jump back into chaturanga (plank or modified plank pose), standing poses and floor poses. This slow flowing vinyasa style class is accompanied by soft music. At the end of the class you'll enjoy a few restorative poses of relaxation. The focus is on alignment and breathing and is suitable for all levels of students.
